Merthyr Tydfil is the regional forerunner in retail for the
Heads of the Valleys area.
Merthyr has attracted both local shoppers and worldwide tourists
for many years due to it's exclusive local independent stores and
renowned high street brands all of which is set in breath taking
surrounding scenery and outdoor activities.
As well as the high street stores there is a daily indoor
market, twice weekly outdoor market aswell as the fantastic farmers
market on the first Friday of every month which supplies the town

Tourism News - New Bus Route
VR Travel launches Route 66, a perfect way for visitors to get
around the town centre. The circular route around Merthyr Tydfil
Town Centre stops at the following destinations:
- Merthyr Tydfil Rail Station: for train connections, Tesco and
town centre shopping.
- Rhydycar Leisure Park: for leisure centre, cinema and food
outlets.
- Cyfarthfa Retail Park: out of town shopping
- Pontmorlais: Old Pontmorlais Circus, Soar Theatre and
independent shops
- Merthyr Tydfil Bus Station (Stand 9): bus connections and town
centre shopping.
The Route Operates from Monday to Saturday from 9.05 am at
the Railway Station and takes 15 minutes to complete the route. The
last bus leaves the Railway Station at 17.35pm.
